Please note that some things are different right now due to Covid-19
What are your Sunday Services like?
Our Sunday services are what many would consider a more traditional service. We mostly sing hymns yet we have a worship team that leads in a few contemporary songs each month. Dress is casual.
Do you have Children's Church?
We do have Children's Sunday School before the Worship service each week, but we do not currently have a Children's church during the 11:00 service time. We do have a nursery where you can view the service for children 3 and under and nursing moms.
What Translation of the Bible do you use?
Our pew bibles are New International Version. But many in the congregation bring their own bibles of a variety translations. The pastor typically preaches out of the New American Standard Version.
What denomination are you affiliated with?
We are an independent, evangelical, bible believing church. We currently are not connected with any denomination. Our History Page gives more of an account of this.
How can I become a member of Scipio Community Church?
To join our church there are some requirements that we have for those interested. First and foremost you must be a Christian and willing to share your testimony with the Pastor and Deacons. Baptism is also one of the requirements. Additionally we ask that you attend at least 6 months before joining, just to see if you feel called to be a part of our church ministry. And of course you must agree with our statement of faith and bylaws.
Do you perform Weddings?
Some, not all. It is the pastor's conviction to perform christian weddings only. Both the husband and bride "to be" must be interested in establishing a christian home. We also expect to give pre-marital counseling to those we are marrying. Re-marriage also depends on the prior individual’s circumstances. Another minister may be used for performing a wedding in our church building as long as it meets our general criteria.
Do you perform Funerals?
Yes. Feel free to contact us.
